1       Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest

1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.

1.2 Apologies were received from Jayne Bryant AM and Angela Burns AM. Mohammad Asghar AM substituted for Angela Burns.

 

2       Inquiry into primary care - evidence session 8 - Royal College of Psychiatrists

2.1 The Committee received evidence from Professor Keith Lloyd of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

 

3       Inquiry into primary care - evidence session 9 - Pen Y Bont Health

3.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of Pen Y Bont Health.

 

4       Paper(s) to note

4.1   Report from Sian Gwenllian AM on 'Tackling the Crisis - a new medical school for Wales'

4.1a The Committee noted the report from Sian Gwenllian AM.

 

5       Motion under Standing Order 17.42 to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting

5.1 The Committee agreed the motion.

 

6       Inquiry into primary care - consideration of evidence

6.1 The Committee discussed the evidence given during items 2 and 3 of the meeting.

 

7       Use of anti-psychotic medication in care homes - inquiry refresh

7.1 The Committee had further discussions about its inquiry into the use of anti-psychotic medication in care homes and agreed to issue invites to stakeholders to attend evidence gathering sessions in the autumn term.

 

8       Forward work programme

8.1 The Committee had further discussions about its previously identified priority of looking at public health and sport. The Committee agreed to consider options for an inquiry at one of its meetings in July, with the intention of launching a public consultation over the summer.

8.2 The Committee considered correspondence relating to its forward work programme.
